    Night Light Knights

New series of screen prints adding a more defined layer to those experiments I posted earlier. I love drawing knights so I wanted to design my own! Playing with all the colors with these was a blast. It’s hard to tell from the scans, but these are layers of neon ink so they are amazingly vibrant in person! And the that teal glows in the dark which is just awesome.

I’m partial to the purple/teal variant. Do you all have a favorite?

Spent some quality time in the screen printing studio yesterday and here are some of my favorite happy accidents! I love when you can get lost in the process and just mess around and see what you get! One of the many reasons I love monoprinting and printmaking in general.

Excited to work more of this process in more fleshed out work.

(Also, fun fact, that teal ink glows in the dark~)

  8. Recent sketchbook doodles! It’s fun to draw for the sake of drawing every now and then (though that Game of Thrones is definitely seeping through). Anything you want to see me doodle?

Let’s Hang Out
It’s so important to take time for yourself once in awhile especially if you’re in a slump. Hang out with yourself and do all the things that make you happy. It always helps to brighten my own mood when I’m not 100%. So follow Tom and Donna’s advice and Treat Yo Self!

  10. It’s finally out in print so I can share these map icons I did for Virginia Living Magazines current Best Of issue! It’s surreal seeing something of mine on a magazine rack as this is my first published work in a magazine. It’s not much, but baby steps! Gotta start somewhere!

I don’t draw vehicles very often so it was fun flexing those muscles a bit and adding my touch.

Many thanks to AD Sonda Anderson Pappan! So great to work with!

(I also did an illustrated lettering piece for this issue! But you’ll have to pick up an issue to see it~)
